Curated selection for Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN)

6 Hotels Found
Spain
Unlike many major hubs, Barcelona El Prat (BCN) has limited in-terminal options. The only true on-site accommodation is the Sleep&Fly in Terminal 1. For most travelers, the best strategy is to stay at one of the business hotels in the nearby Mas Blau business park, which is connected by a free 5-minute shuttle ride.

Transit Tips for Barcelona (BCN)

Terminal 1 vs Terminal 2

The only true in-terminal options are the Sleep&Fly cabins (also known as Air Rooms), located landside in Terminal 1. If you are flying via Terminal 2 (low-cost carriers like Ryanair/EasyJet), there are NO hotels inside. You must take the free green shuttle bus to T1 or stay at nearby hotels.

Business Park Shuttles

The closest full-service hotels are in the Mas Blau business park, just a 5-minute free shuttle ride away. The most popular option is the INNSiDE by Meliá Barcelona Aeropuerto (formerly Tryp), which offers modern rooms and frequent transfers. Another excellent choice is the BAH Barcelona Airport Hotel, known for its rare outdoor garden and pool setting.

Airport Logistics & Tips

Why Stay Near BCN?

A hotel near BCN is most valuable for an early departure, late arrival, short overnight connection, or event at Fira Gran Via. The airport is well connected to Barcelona, but a city stay still adds a transfer before the flight. Staying near El Prat removes that extra journey and makes terminal timing easier.

Sleep&Fly is the airport's in-terminal accommodation and is landside in Terminal 1. It is the strongest choice when a T1 departure is the priority because no hotel shuttle is required. Terminal 2 has no equivalent in-terminal hotel; T2 passengers choosing Sleep&Fly must use the free inter-terminal shuttle.

Other airport hotels are outside the terminals, including properties around El Prat de Llobregat and nearby business districts. Their usefulness depends on the transfer, not simply the map distance. Check whether the hotel serves both T1 and T2, whether advance booking is required, and whether the service operates at your flight time.

Choose The Right BCN Hotel Area

Inside Terminal 1: Sleep&Fly is the lowest-friction option for T1 departures and late T1 arrivals. It is landside, so it is not an airside transit hotel.

El Prat and airport business area: Best for a wider hotel choice close to BCN. Compare shuttle instructions carefully because these properties are outside the terminal buildings.

Fira Gran Via: Useful when an exhibition is the main reason for the trip. Metro L9 Sud connects the airport side with the Fira area.

Central Barcelona: Best for sightseeing and city access. Choose this when the Barcelona stay matters more than minimizing the journey to an early flight.

T1 And T2 Are Not Walkable

BCN's two terminal buildings are separate and should not be treated as one walkable complex. Aena operates a free 24-hour shuttle between them. The R2 Nord station is at T2, while L9 Sud metro stations serve both T1 and T2. Always confirm the airline's terminal before selecting a hotel, transfer, or public-transport route.

Tips

Check the terminal shown by your airline before booking: Aena assigns airlines to T1 or T2 regardless of whether a flight is domestic or international. Sleep&Fly is landside in T1, not inside the secure departure area. If your hotel is outside the terminals, ask for the precise T1 and T2 pickup points and operating hours. T1 passengers planning to use the R2 Nord train need the free shuttle to T2; metro L9 Sud serves both terminals but normally requires a transfer for central Barcelona.
